Discussion:
2FG10 1971 CLUTCH REPLACEMENT

Hello to the forum
My clutch failed and i am trying to find a way to remove the cover assembly and the clutch disc.
I have been told that there is a safety pin to remove do gearbox shaft can withdraw and leave room to remove the cover assembly and disc.
However I can't find any pin. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Very glad I found this thread. Thank you for the part numbers. We have a 2FG10 that has needed a clutch for years and we finally have some downtime to fix it. Do you have any lifting information for the 2FG10? I don't have a certification plate anywhere on mine so I'm not even sure what it's lifting restrictions are.

The first hole you see in your video, (there are 3 holes) it should have threat inside it.
If you can assemble without pressure, thats fine, but mostly diffelcult to put it all thogether

To be honest i just removed the clutch cover.
I have seen other video where people are installing 3 bolts to the clutch cover for installation of the clutch and then removing them.
My clutch cover do not have any threaded Holes. So how can I put pressure on the clutch prior to the installation?
Here's a video of clutch cover

Just put pressure on the new clutch and mount the 3 bolts, then re assemble, don,t forget to take out bolts.

First put pressure on the clutch and place 3 bolds in it.
Put forks up and look from the front side of truck to the gearbox, in line with the gearbox there is a bold, take that one out and you see the pin.
You can pull it back to releave the clutch, there should be room to take it out.
