Discussion:
1999 moffet forklift (3 issues)

Hi all,

I new to forklifts and have some issues with my old lift.

1) Recently the forks will only lower slowly, even when revving the engine. All other functions work fine. Lowers at the same speed as if when the lift is off (pressure release)

2) When the forklift warms up the oil light comes on when on idle, disappears when engine is revved

3) I have a small coolant leak that drips on the right side and to the back of the lift. my question is, how bad is it to use with this leak. I refill the coolant every few days.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

mike,
check the relief valve from the main hyd pump and check the pressure with a 5000psi gauge. The hyd pressure should run almost 3000 psi when checked for relief setting.

the oil pressure light coming on at idle could just mean its low on oil, if its not low then change the oil and filter and see if that helps. Check the oil pressure sensor too and if it shows any signs of leaking then replace it, it could be bad.

as for the coolant, the right thing to do would be to find the leak and fix it but the worse things that can happen is if you run it out of coolant it will run hot and could damage the block, otherwise it will just be leaking on the ground and polluting the ground with antifreeze.

Foundling hatches are safe, anonymous drop-off points for unwanted infants, allowing parents in crisis a way to surrender a baby safely without fear of punishment, ensuring the child is rescued and cared for. The concept started in the 12th century, was abandoned in the late 19th century, then reintroduced in 1952. It has since been adopted in many countries.
