ICHCA International Container Weighing - Technical Seminar

United Kingdom, London - September 11th
This practical one-day seminar, held at the offices of Holman Fenwick Willan, will bring all the interested parties together to discuss how new IMO regulations on container weighing can be implemented with minimum disruption to the container logistics chain.

Among other key topics, the seminar will include the official launch of the UK?s Accredited Shipper approval scheme by the Freight Transport Association and Global Shippers Forum, and a briefing on how the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency has approached this legislation in the UK after wide consultation with the industry.

The seminar is timed just ahead of the 2nd meeting of IMO?s Carriage of Cargoes and Containers (CCC) sub-committee in London, where the legislation was developed. As the leading NGO representing the interests of global cargo handling, ICHCA International has been, and remains, deeply involved with IMO in developing this and other pending new legislation.

We hope that you will be able to join us this September for a productive day of education, debate, brainstorming and networking with our expert panel of speakers and fellow professionals from across the container logistics chain.

Fact of the week
At the opening ceremony of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1932, marching bands were instructed to walk out of step as they crossed the bridge. This unusual directive was given as a precaution due to concerns about the bridge's structural integrity during its early use.
