Defence Safety Conference, Supported by The Defenc

United Kingdom, London - October 1 - 2, 2018
Defence Safety Conference, Supported by The Defenc This unique two-day event will showcase how leading defence forces promote and manage safety across their organisations and why in the modern military environment, safety is being raised on the strategic agenda and seen as a force multiplier.

Featuring high level briefings from more than 10 nations and covering the broad spectrum of safety across military aviation, land and maritime; the Defence Safety Conference will aim to reduce avoidable deaths, improve protection of capability and preserve the reputation of those that operate, supply and support defence services.

"I believe this will be the first conference of its type, with a specific focus on Defence Safety. I hope the rationale for the conference will convince you of its value and the opportunity it offers your organisation as a platform to promote and discuss how we can together drive the continuous improvement in safety that we all seek. This SMi conference is being run with the support of the UK's Defence Safety Authority (DSA)."

Lieutenant General Richard Felton CBE, Director General, Defence Safety Authority, UK MOD

Fact of the week
Bluetooth is named after the 10th-century Viking king, Harald Bluetooth, who united warring tribes in Denmark and Norway. In 1997, Jim Kardach from Intel gave the name to the technology because of its ability to unite different communication protocols, just as Harald united various tribes.
