Governor's California Small Business Economic Summit

We invite you to attend the Governor's California Small Business Economic Summit
Purchasing and contracting officials from dozens of State Agencies and Departments will be in attendance at the event for you to meet and discuss current and future contracting opportunities.


On Wednesday, May 28, 2003 Governor Gray Davis will convene the first of two California Small Business Economic Summits which will focus on the economic development of the State's vital small business community. The second Summit will be held in Los Angeles in the Fall at a location to be announced.

The Summit will provide access to opportunities for increased business development:
Access to critical information and discussion regarding Workman's Comp, Taxes, Labor Laws, and Workforce Training

Access to State Small Business Advocates, Contracting Officers, and Procurement Officials

Access to Small Business Lenders and Technical Assistance Programs

The Summit will focus on providing access to resources:
Access to contract opportunities

Access to capital

Access to technology

Access to services and products to increase efficiency, productivity and profit

Access to innovative strategies for business development

Governor Gray Davis, First Lady Sharon Davis, and Sonya Blake, Director of the Governor's Office of the Small Business Advocate are scheduled to address the hundreds of small business owners in attendance at the Summit Luncheon. The Governor will use his address at the Summit to outline his plans to assist small businesses in California.
