The introduction of a new series of heavy duty high lift reach truck masts gives Yale customers the opportunity to lift full pallets to over 12 metres with the MR 16-20 HD Reach Truck.

With reach trucks dominating the narrow aisle market for high level - high density stacking, specifically in the fast growing distribution and 3PL (third party logistics) sector, the development of a new series of heavy duty masts will give Yale reach truck customers the ability to store and retrieve full pallets at up to 13 metres (h3 =12.152m) with high residual lift capacity. The Yale HD mast has a capacity of 1100Kg at 600mm load centres, at 10,000mm lift height.

Announcing the new heavy duty mast for the MR 16-20 Reach Truck, Yale Europe's Paul Garrigan said: "The new design mast is based on the market demand to lift full pallets above twelve metres in complete safety, with minimum mast twist and sway - which the Yale heavy duty mast does perfectly."

First choice for Operators

The new mast has few cross members to obstruct the operators view, with fork tilt and integral side-shift as standard, to make pallet location at higher levels easy for operators. The addition of fork carriage cameras and closed circuit TV with an eye level monitor in the cab, gives operators additional confidence when handling pallets at above 10 metres.

Operator comfort is enhanced with a 3-way adjustable steering console, multi-function display, a sliding padded armrest and a choice of performance levels. Reach truck operation is intuitive for experienced operators, with controls close to hand and progressive fly-by-wire steering. The Yale MR Reach Truck has automatic speed reduction on cornering.

High Productivity

With the latest AC motor technology, CANbus systems connectivity and electronic steering, Yale customers benefit from increased productivity from the combination of high performance and improved ergonomics. As standard, operators can choose from 4 performance settings (slow-soft-standard-hard) to select the most appropriate drive configuration for each application. Paul Garrigan continues: "We have developed proven AC motor and control technology with increased efficiency, offering greater productivity at a lower overall operating cost - making Yale AC technology affordable for all reach truck operators."

Low Maintenance

Yale has brought the era of the maintenance free warehouse truck even nearer. Brushless AC motors, fewer mechanical components, proximity sensors rather than mechanical switches, simplified control systems, increased thermal protection and improved fault diagnosis via a multi-function DDI display, all contribute to increased service intervals, greater productivity and lower maintenance. Yale MR Reach Trucks offer customers a low maintenance option resulting in lower overall operating costs and greater reliability.

"The new Yale MR16-20 HD Reach Truck has been extensively trialled in intensive production and distribution environments, proving to be first choice for operators in both ambient and coldstore operations. The introduction of the heavy duty mast gives Yale customers even more choice for high level reach truck applications" concludes Garrigan.
