A young man, who had recently started work at a new job, has died after he was involved in a workplace accident involving a forklift.

Carter Capner Law says the man was “pinned beneath” the forklift at the worksite, where, the law firm reports, staff from the company used forklifts to cross the road between two warehouses and unload on the streets.

SafeWork NSW is now investigating the accident and preparing a report for the Coroner.

“As the community mourns the sudden loss of a young worker, authorities are now under pressure to determine whether the death could have been prevented,” the law firm states.

“The tragedy has also reignited scrutiny of workplace safety enforcement, especially in high-risk roles involving heavy machinery.”
