Toyota Industries Corp (TICO) wants to sell 192,000 forklifts globally in 2013, 7% more than the previous year, and close to its record global sales figure of 192,693 forklifts in 2007.
The
Nikkei Report says the world's leading forklift manufacturer will boost its marketing efforts in Japan and overseas to achieve its goal.
The global forklift market is expected to be largely stagnant this year, at about 940,000 to 950,000 units.
TICO is reportedly focusing its marketing efforts on the food and distribution industries in Japan. The company consolidated its European sales channels at the end of last year

The company sold about 179,000 forklifts worldwide in 2012, up 5% year-on-year. Domestic sales accounted for about 31,000 units of the total
