The new EP-PN(T) range is all about operator comfort and saving money for the owner. It boasts a 12% reduction in typical energy consumption compared to current models and is fully equipped to offer the driver comfort and peace of mind.

The Cat® EP13-20(C)PN(T) range is available in lift capacities of 1.3, 1.5 tonnes (three-wheel versions) and 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 tonnes (three and four-wheel) providing a wide range of choices, depending on the job to be done.

Whatever the capacity, it is a particularly well specified truck for the operator. It offers configurable performance settings and an easily accessible, comfortable, cabin with unobstructed floor space. In addition, driving is effortless, thanks to the electronic power steering, and the operation is very quiet. This new 48V range is among the quietest available anywhere. The noise level at the 'driver's ear' is just 66dB(A) for three-wheel models, and 67dB(A) for four-wheel models.

This range is also equipped with safety features such as the Presence Detection System (PDS+), that includes a 'ramp hold' function, electronic parking brake, and an Intuitive Speed Control system, that automatically reduces the speed in corners.

When it comes to servicing, this truck is all about reducing costs. Long-lasting LED work lights have been fitted as standard, as well as wet disc brakes. These brakes are totally sealed, resisting ingress of water or dirt and, being maintenance-free. The greatly extended service intervals of 1000 hours, also help to reduce maintenance and the total cost of ownership.

With a choice of two battery standards, DIN or British Standard, the customer can decide on the best solution for his work. British Standard offers around two hours' extra work in an average application, so it can be advantageous in certain circumstances.

This EP-PN(T) has another big advantage, because it extends the possibility of replacing engine driven trucks with environmentally friendly electric trucks. All models come with IPx4 splash resistance and IP54 sealed traction and hydraulic motors as standard. These features make the new trucks ideal for outside use, being highly resistant to harsh working environments and allowing them to be thoroughly washed down, ensuring maximum uptime, maximum lifespan and maximum productivity.

As if it that were not enough, the frame and mast can also be galvanized, making it one of the most corrosion-resistant trucks around.

Such features make the new trucks particularly well suited to applications in the food sector, especially fish processing, where salt water is a major hazard. They are also suited for other sectors where the environment is unusually harsh, such as at ports and in the chemicals industry.
