Superior Tire & Rubber Corp is a manufacturer of solid rubber and polyurethane industrial wear products including forklift tires and wheels, construction equipment track pads, scraperblades and wheels, mining equipment wear parts and specialty engineered rubber and polyurethane products. Our vision statement which drives all facets of the business reads "As vendor of choice we provide technical excellence to give our customers a competitive advantage".

2009 is Superior Tire's 45th anniversary of being incorporated in 1964. From the beginning Superior has been a manufacturer of rubber industrial tires and wheels for the material handling and construction industries. In 1978 we began producing polyurethane tires and load wheels to complement the rubber line. In 2002 we formerly organized ourselves into four product lines; Material Handling OEM, Material Handling Aftermarket, Construction Wear Parts and Engineered Elastomers. Currently we service the OEM and aftermarket segments in the material handling, construction and mining industries. Key accounts include Crown, Hyster, Nissan, Raymond, CAT, Cedarapids, Kennametal, PPG and Joy Mining.

Technical excellence is exemplified at Superior by the material handling market and OEM engineering acceptance and demand for our "poly spring" stabilizer caster. Our STR Caster® is used on Class 3 rider pallet jacks in order to stabilize the pallet jack traveling through turns. The unique and patented Superior's design provides better linear deflection than competitive casters resulting in less rocking and more stable ride. We have US patents for an Industrial, Caster Wheel, with Elastomeric Spring/Damper Member and for the Adjustment Member of the Caster.

Our preference is to compete in the market on the performance end rather than the price end. We would rather troubleshoot a situation or application than buy our way into the business. Our Cushothane® XL3 load wheel with XL3 bonding technology line is another example of technical excellence serving the high end of the market. Load wheels are used at the end of the "forks" or outriggers on Class 2 narrow aisle and Class 3 pallet jack warehouse equipment. The common failure mode of load wheels has been debonding - the polyurethane cover releasing from the steel core. This is due to the heat build-up in the wheel burning out the adhesive holding the poly coating to the hub. After two years of research, in-house testing and controlled field trials, in January 2007 we introduced the one and still only "No Bond Failure Guarantee" for Cushothane® XL3 load wheel with XL3 bonding technology. The guarantee is based on an improved adhesive which extend the failure temperature of the adhesive beyond any possible usage condition. Through our adhesive technology and XLTM compound, our customers are provided with features such as extended wheel life, increased battery life, and reduced downtime from fewer wheel replacements.

Despite the difficult economy in 2009 we plan on growth and are actively looking for locally available land to expand our production facility. We generate growth utilizing various prospecting techniques including electronic and print advertising including FORKLIFTACTION.COM.
