A conference on bulk and general stevedoring operations takes place in Melbourne next month.

A conference on bulk and general stevedoring operations will take place on 11-13 May in Melbourne. It aims to bring together wharfies from various areas and align strategy on job and enterprise bargaining in the stevedoring industry.

The conference will also see the roll-out of the National Stevedoring Code of Practice and deal with many issues of significance to bulk and general workplaces.

It aims to raise unity across various enterprise sectors and work toward the development of an industry-wide union culture among bulk and general wharfies.

The conference will also set priority goals in bargaining in an attempt to bridge any gaps between companies.
