The term FMS "Fleet Management System" or VMS "Vehicle Management System" means many things to many people. From technology in the form of telematics, to the simple hourly meter readings; all providers of lifttruck fleet management information systems use various kinds of data loggers installed on lift-truck vehicles to register certain events pertaining to their use.

It should be noted that all of the current lift-truck data logger systems on the market today, except the ED2-400 Series SkidWeigh, collect information that is used to generate vehicle utilization reports at some later point of time, but not in the real-time.

Their final reports are based on historical data, and in many cases, the measurement factors are irrelevant and not quite accurate when it comes to the actual lift-truck usage analysis.

The message here is that you have to measure the right variables in order to effectively manage an activity; as they say, "you can't manage what you can't measure."

Whether you operate a small fleet of forklifts, just one truck or a fleet that spans many facilities, it's important to partner with a quality fleet management organization that will help you navigate the best approach to pay dividends to your operation.

Fleet Optimization Solution in Real Time

With the SkidWiegh patented technology specific vehicle operational measurements and on board calculation will provide your forklift operator with a visual warning immediately and with real-time reporting of the equipment when operating under the utilization factor set for your specific material handling needs.

The ED2-400 SkidWeigh Series system is the industry's only solution that automatically transforms vehicle usage pattern data into meaningful information in real-time reporting.

A large amount of productivity can be hindered by loosing fractions-of-hours due to reduced operator efficiency. Vehicles under utilized and lost productivity is difficult to identify through normal everyday observation or with historical data based reports.

With ED2-400 Series SkidWeigh the forklift "under utilization" can be monitored for each vehicle continuously and has a very large payback. It's not uncommon for an improved vehicle utilization of 25 to 30 percent without any analysis.

Operator Under Utilization Warning

The SkidWeigh system offers a visual warning when operating "under utilization," based on factors that are specific to each lift-truck and
is located right on the vehicle itself. It has the optional capability to collect data with a USB data logger or wireless web based cellular telemetry and is the key to the "real" Real-Time material handling fleet management information.

The ED2-400 Series SkidWeigh is the only system on the market that does NOT use historical data, but instead, is capable of comparing actual and desired forklift operating activity. With those comparisons, it determines the current vehicle utilization in real-time, continuously monitoring operational activity pattern and updating it every second.
