The iconic VW campervan has had a makeover, exuding retro cool with an electric edge almost 70 years since the launch of the original. When the ID Buzz Microbus concept model drove on to the scene in early 2017, it elicited such an enthusiastic response that VW decided to shift up a gear from concept to production.
The German carmaker is calling the ID Buzz the most versatile electric car ever. Fully electric, the vehicle offers all-wheel drive and 275 kilowatts of power. It boasts a range of 435 kilometres and a top speed of 160km/h. The battery charging is not only wireless, but fully automatic, too. Engineered for either manual or fully automated driving, the ID Buzz has a mode for every mood.
Both internally and externally, the design is slick, but it is the smart elements that really elevate the ID Buzz. A sophisticated sensor system designed for accident-free driving and voice-activated controls offer a completely new user experience.
