The contract for 15 RTGs is Terex Noell's largest overseas order in two years.

Terex Noell has beaten three other companies to win a contract for 15 rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes from L&T Shipbuilding Ltd for the Kattupalli Port in Chenai, India.

The contract, which is its largest overseas order in two years, is worth nearly USD20 million.

Terex Noell spokeswoman Mishara Meng tells Forkliftaction.com News the largest overseas orders for its RTG cranes have included the 16 RTGs delivered to Vancouver, Canada in 2005 and another 16 RTGs delivered to Valencia, Spain in 2006.

US crane manufacturer Terex Corp completed its acquisition of Italian company Fantuzzi in 2009, as part of its strategy to tap the Chinese and European markets (Forkliftaction.com News #422).

Fantuzzi pioneered reach stacker and empty container handling forklift production in China. The Fantuzzi product range includes Noell-branded straddle carriers and rail and rubber-tyred gantry cranes. Zhangzhou-based Noell Crane Systems China, established in 1991, is a member of the Fantuzzi Group of companies (Forkliftaction.com News #253).
