A US Army contracting command in Kuwait is soliciting bids via its website to lease three telescopic forklifts for one year and obtain options on the same types of equipment for an additional six months. Bids are due on 14 May through civilian contractor Eric Paul Williams at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait.

The request calls for two rough-terrain forklifts and one all-terrain forklift for use in the year ended 3 May 2011. The specifications call for each of the diesel-powered machines with enclosed air-conditioned cabs to have an extendable boom and capacity to lift 5,000 pounds (2,250 kg) at 44 feet (13.2 m) while the forks are extended at 30 feet 8 inches (9.2 m).

The options for similar equipment deal with leases ending 2 November 2011.

Prospective vendors propose the make, model and year-not older than 2008-and must agree to stringent maintenance and replacement requirements.

As a US military installation, Camp Arifjan is used as a forward logistics base, aviation classification and repair activity depot, helicopter ground support base and motor pool. Thousands of soldiers pass through the camp en route to or from Iraq.

Words of support …

These releases in Forkliftaction are a nice experience for SNDC... We got seven inquiries coming from Canada, USA, Mexico, Israel and Australia (five from retailers, two from machines manufacturers) and we are still in contact with them. I can state that's a success story!
