Narrow Aisle Ltd is supplying Flexi EURO articulated forklifts to Magna Intier's Leipzig factory. |
Narrow Aisle Ltd has won a contract to supply Flexi EURO articulated forklifts to automotive component supplier Magna Intier's Leipzig factory.
The Flexi EURO has a compact chassis and narrow front axle, allowing it to work in aisles as narrow as 1.6 metres (5.3 feet). It can lift 1,800kgs (3,968lbs), with lift heights of over 8 metres (26 feet), making it suitable for facilities where space is at a premium. Its treaded cushion rubber tyres make it suitable for working indoors and outdoors.
The forklift's compact dimensions and ability to work inside the warehouse and the factory, and outside to unload incoming deliveries, enable it to do the work of a counterbalance forklift and reach truck.
This has reduced Magna Intier's forklift fleet operating costs and increased its storage capacity by 25%.
Magna Intier is using the Flexi forklifts to deliver components from an on-site warehouse to the production line. The company provides component parts and other services to a range of top-end car manufacturers including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Aston Martin.
According to Narrow Aisle, Magna Intier is the latest German manufacturing company to have ordered Flexi forklifts. Other companies include Brose, a supplier of outsourced assembly services to car manufacturers; Robert Brosch, a manufacturer and supplier of automotive technology, consumer goods and industrial technology products; and Heidelberg, a printing machinery provider.
