The Iowa workforce development division of labour services is investigating an industrial forklift accident that resulted in the death of Ryan Bierman, 25.

The accident occurred on 11 February in a Muscatine plastic packaging and container plant of Rochester, Michigan-based family-owned Letica Corp.

The Des Moines, Iowa-based state agency serves as the arm of the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration in Iowa incidents and anticipates completing the investigation within one month.

The Muscatine police and fire departments responded to emergency calls from the Letica of Iowa Inc facility. The police concluded that an accident had occurred and that, according to Police Chief Gary R Coderoni, no foul play was involved.
