Expansion of the MEYER presence in the key regional markets has led to the creation of a trade subsidiary in Moscow. Initially the territory of the Russian Federation, the CIS countries, and the Baltic will be the area of responsibility of the newly founded subsidiary. The company clearly sees the strategic importance of this region and considers it to be a market with great potential. The dynamics of the development of the Russian Federation and neighbour countries testify to this. In the last few years we observed a steady growth of deliveries of warehouse equipment and an active development of the logistical infrastructure.

The introduction of MEYER products - representing the mother company - has been met with a positive reaction from the FLT suppliers and end users. MEYER is the first manufacturer to introduce attachments for counterbalanced trucks in the market. The primary goal is the co-ordination of activities with regard to new equipment and technical support within the dedicated territory. Russian speaking personnel are essential to accelerate the efficient processing of information. To facilitate communication we actively create sources of technical information of MEYER products in the Russian language. The home website page and the main brochures are already translated. The Moscow office co-operates with the MEYER engineering department in Salzgitter to ensure accuracy of technical solutions.

On the basis of continuing stable economical development in this region, active development of separate industries is predicted: paper manufacturing, recycling, beverage industry, warehousing. For all-round service and maintenance as well as for shipments,
MEYER plans to open a warehouse and workshop in Moscow for the storage of new equipment and spare parts. This infrastructure will be an important basis for developing other services, e.g. rental.

The introduction of MEYER in the Russian Federation will strengthen the competition within and will lead to a change of balance in the lift truck attachment industry. The outlook for MEYER on the Russian market is optimistic as quality and efficient life cycle of MEYER products are already known to many end users.
