Chamfered ends on the pads prevent damage to rolls during vertical movement of the roll clamp. Contact pads are always positioned in the "clamp ready" position by use of dual pad springs, which hold the pads in proper alignment with the arm - keeping contact pads at an optimum angle for handling rolls. The arm tip, which secures the pad, is constructed of a one-piece, high-strength casting, providing the thinnest arm tip in the industry-facilitating improved knifing between rolls.
