SIS, the exciting new addition to the SpeedShield line is much more sensitive to which impacts it records! Eliminating most of those annoying false warnings and shut downs so you know when a real problem occurs. The Smart Impact Sensor (SIS) recognizes the difference between a sudden drop (like a pothole or bad seam in the in your concrete) and a concrete wall or steel post the forklift just slammed into. It will sound an alarm and/or shut the truck down as well as recording the incident.

SpeedShield attaches the Smart Impact Sensor to either the Fleet Weigh or SSV3 modules. When installed with the drive ID package, you know who was driving when that wall or post got damaged over the weekend. The incident is recorded on board and downloaded using the Bluetooth, or the optional SpeedShield 900 MHz Communications or GSM Network. The operator, date, time, and severity of impact are recorded for each incident. In the event of a severe impact, SpeedShield will disable the truck until reactivated by authorized personnel.

The SIS is a 3 axis impact sensor that can evaluate the direction of the force and duration of the impact. The pothole incident is a fast impact with more vertical force than lateral. The duration of an impact when a forklift collides with a wall, post, or another forklift is longer and in the direction of the X (forward or reverse) & Y (left and right sides) axis where the pothole has more force toward the Z (up and down) axis.

In addition, the Fleet Weigh module will take that information and record it in it's on board computer. The data is stored until it is downloaded by the Bluetooth link or SpeedShield's GSM or 900 MHz communications technology.

With the SpeedShield module equipped with driver ID, prestart checklist, and seat belt interlocks, you are assured of compliance with OSHA safety standards. Your insurance company may offer a discount for this automation of these safety features on your fleet. The return on the SpeedShield investment can be seen in the first 18 months through damage prevention in the plant, abuse or neglect prevention of forklifts, and prevention of possible personal injuries. Some facilities show a quicker return.

SpeedShield has proven to be proven technology for reliability and ease of installation. It is available for quick delivery and is supported with a 6 month warranty.

These releases in Forkliftaction are a nice experience for SNDC... We got seven inquiries coming from Canada, USA, Mexico, Israel and Australia (five from retailers, two from machines manufacturers) and we are still in contact with them. I can state that's a success story!
