The biennial Argentine logistics & materials handling show Expo Logisti-k has been hailed a "great success" by an Argentinian marketing company.
Henry Whitney, president of Marketeck SA, told
Forkliftaction.com News the Buenos Aires show attracted about 16,000 visitors to its 187 stands.
Twenty-three forklift distributors showcased 36 brands of forklifts and nine stands offered batteries, tyres, maintenance and spare parts, he said.
Forklift distributors included AG Pruden (Linde), Autoelec (Carer), Autoelevadores Yale SA (Yale, Ausa, Drexel, Taylor), Boss Argentina SA (Crown, Daewoo-Doosan) and Industrias Darc SA (Clark). Battery suppliers included Autobat SA, Enersystems Argentina and Dataplex.
Whitney said the Argentine economy was growing at more than eight per cent a year. More than 3,000 forklifts were sold in 2005 and 2006 sales were expected to match or exceed that figure.
Argentina is South America's second biggest forklift market, after Brazil, according to Marketeck.
