Clark Material Handling has returned its headquarters to the United States with the official opening of its new global headquarters in the Texas suburb of Flower Mound.

Clark’s headquarters were moved to Seoul in 2003 following its acquisition by Korea’s Young An Hat Company.

The Texas location, which Clark says was strategically selected because of its proximity to Dallas Fort Worth Airport, was established with a temporary global headquarters in March 2022.

The new 56,972 sqft. (5,293sqm) site will serve as Clark’s central hub for forklift technology and materials handling innovation and features a product showroom, forklift experience centre, warehousing and distribution centre, dealer sales and service training and the Clark History Hall.

Clark opened its Clark Material Handling Company (CMHC) North American headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky in 2005 and then expanded this in 2019, adding the third US manufacturing site to the operation.

Production at the Lexington site remains ongoing.

“Since 2003, I envisioned a future where we would one day return our global headquarters to America, the birthplace of the forklift,” says Sung Hak Baik, honorary chairman of YoungAn. “This new facility is the realisation of that vision. I am proud to see Clark take this significant step forward.”

Clark states the moves of the global headquarters back to the US solidifies “the company’s status as an iconic American brand and positioning it for global growth”.

Chuck Moratz, president and CEO of Clark Global and Clark Material Handling Company, says the opening of the global headquarters in the US “honours our legacy while confidently building the future of the material handling industry”.
