Bangkok-headquartered Amita Technology (Thailand) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Toyota Material Handling Warehouse Solutions - Thailand (TMHWST) to introduce lithium-ion batteries under the TerraXell brand for electric forklifts.

The MoU is being described by Amita parent company Energy Absolute Public Company Limited (EA) as a “strategic business partnership for sustainable energy” which “aims to advance Thailand's logistics industry with a focus on clean energy solutions”.

Under the MoU, Amita will lead the development of battery prototypes, including the design, assembly and testing processes as well as researching battery chargers and management systems for electric forklifts.

TMHWST will lead market development for lithium-ion batteries under the TerraXell brand.

Chatrapon Sripratum, EA’s chief executive officer says of the collaboration: “We believe this partnership marks a significant step forward in driving clean energy adoption in the transportation and logistics sector”.
