DP World to employ young Kenyans

In this week’s Forkliftaction News, among the new products, appointments and partnerships, we look at an innovative program in Kenya where a multinational has partnered with local government to train and employ 400 young people for intralogistics roles, including 100 as forklift operators (see story for more).

It is a heartening story which demonstrates the power of collaboration between large companies and governments to support young people into paid employment while addressing the skills gap in our sector.

And with the talent shortage and skills gaps we are seeing opening up, it is encouraging to see such creative approaches which benefit everyone involved.
