Pudu has released the D9 humanoid

Chinese service robotics innovator Pudu Robotics has launched Pudu D9, its first full-sized, bipedal humanoid robot which is capable of performing a wide range of warehouse tasks.

Pudu D9 stands at 170cm tall, carries a payload of 20kg and, with a walking speed of two metres a second, can walk at the same pace as most adults.

It has 42 degrees of freedom across its joints and includes the Pudu DH11 dexterous hand with dual hand capabilities.

Pudu says the D9 can easily navigate stairs, slopes, and other challenging urban terrains.

“Utilising advanced algorithms, the robot achieves lightweight gait control, minimising noise during operation in human environments,” Pudu continues.

“Its cutting-edge visual semantic navigation system is equipped with high-accuracy sensors that allow for real-time 3D semantic mapping, providing the D9 with a comprehensive understanding of its surroundings. This capability ensures accurate self-positioning and autonomous route planning.”

The PUDU D9 also features a range of high-precision visual, tactile, force, and auditory sensors allowing it to collect multimodal information from its environment, learning from extensive datasets to effectively execute end-to-end task planning to meet various operational demands.

“Through a sophisticated processing framework that integrates advanced AI models, the D9 achieves human-level multimodal natural interactions, significantly enhancing the quality and responsiveness of the services it provides,” Pudu continues.
