Since the start of the pandemic, we have seen a lot of business activity move online. This spans everything from virtual conferences and trade shows to remote warehouse design services, training courses and sales activity.
None of this, of course, would be possible without the Internet and almost universal online access. But it does beg the question: just how connected are we?
According to internetworldstats.com, North America led the connectivity race in Q1 2020, with 94.6% of its population online. The next three were Europe (87.2%), Latin America (70.5%) and the Middle East (69.2%).
The global average for the quarter was 58.7% - more than one in two people on earth.
Were it not for this level of connectivity, you probably wouldn't be doing your job - and you certainly wouldn't be reading this!
