Toposens' new collision sensors
Toposens' new collision sensors
Toposens launches collision sensors
Munich, Germany

Toposens has released its new Ultrasonic Echolocation Sensor for 3D Collision Avoidance. The industrial-grade sensor development kit, called Echo One DK, is based on the company's proven 3D ultrasonic technology, which mimics a bat's echolocation techniques.
Unlike existing sensor technologies that can be negatively impacted by lighting conditions or moisture (such as fog), Toposens' Echo One DK uses echolocation to generate robust, real-time 3D location data to guide autonomous systems across a variety of applications. The performance of this 3D ultrasonic sensor is particularly robust in harsh environments (featuring the IP67 protection rating), as it is dirt tolerant and not affected by dust, smoke and mist.
The Echo One DK features 3D multi-object detection of complex and transparent objects in an ultra-short operating range from 20 cm up to 3 m.

RoboShuttle RS8-DA

Geek+ expands RoboShuttle line
Beijing, China

Geek+ has launched RoboShuttle RS8-DA, an 8 m high flexible arm robot. The highest in the industry, the new robot will enable customers to maximise the use of their warehouses.
RoboShuttle is a safe, efficient and flexible high-density solution that solves the complex logistics scenarios brought on by the rise in e-commerce and the need for systems that can optimise precious warehouse space intelligently. Compatible with 8 m racks and totes, cartons or boxes of varying width, the robot can improve space utilisation by five times, the company claims.
Equipped with an intelligent depth camera and high precision sensors, the robot can adjust its arms to pick boxes of varying sizes, optimising overall shelf space. The storage location can also be allocated according to the size of the box, improving inventory organisation. Connected to the WMS and driven by intelligent algorithms, the robot autonomously transfers up to eight totes to and from the workstation, automating picking, replenishment, reverse logistics and inventory-checking processes.

LTM D8 chain hoist

LTM expands hoist range
Wirrall, United Kingdom

Lift Turn Move (LTM) has expanded its stock of GIS lightweight D8 chain hoists of 500 kg and 1,000 kg capacity for mobile use in the entertainment sector.
GIS-owned LTM is the UK supplier of the Swiss-made electric chain hoists, control systems, and additional materials handling equipment.
As riggers continue to demand the lightest possible chain hoists, LTM is receiving heightened demand for the LPML and higher capacity LPL chain hoists - both capable of lifting over 40 times their own weight.
The LPML weighs a modest 12 kg (20 kg with 18 m lifting height) and delivers a lifting capacity of half a ton. The LPL, meanwhile, lifts 1,000 kg, and, when fully equipped for an 18 m lifting height, weighs in at just 39 kg (23 kg net weight).
The hoists were originally introduced as a supplement to the popular GIS D8+ hoists, used for static suspension of loads over people. Hoists to the standard D8 specification may also be used for static suspension of loads, but it is essential to have a secondary suspension, such as a load arrestor, for example.
The hoists are manufactured in accordance with EN14492 and DIN56950.
