In a technological world, where automation is leading the charge. What impact does this have on vehicle design and lighting?

Automatic cars are already hitting the headlines with trials in on road capabilities and the off-highway industry is not too far behind.

A quiet revolution is underway with key players introducing their visions of the automotive future. Autonomous tractors use a lot of the same advanced sensors and systems that a true self-driving vehicle would, so it is no surprise that these are taking the lead in this field (pardon the pun!). However, other off highway manufacturers are also starting to develop their answer to the need for automation.

But, how does vehicle lighting fit into the mix?

Autonomous vehicles might be used both with and without a driver for different conditions. But even when there is no driver, lighting will play an important role to improve safety and visibility to those working around the machine.

TYRI predicts the future of work vehicle lighting will change dramatically as new innovations such as automation and electric vehicles become commonplace. Lighting will become much more about communication and safety. These trends also suggest that manufacturers, who see the potential of using lighting design as a means of standing out from the competition, will work more closely with companies like TYRI - who can act as an integral part of their design team. Utilising specialist lighting knowledge from concept to delivery of quality, unique lighting solutions can add value to a manufacturers brand and is often more cost effective than many realise. TYRI has already worked with some of the most recognisable names in the heavy vehicle sector to deliver unique lighting tailored to brand identity and performance both in headlight and work light technologies.

Join TYRI, as we deliver the last in this series of webinars, covering our thoughts on future trends in lighting for heavy and off highway vehicles:
