A gigantic cheese, which could be Britain's biggest ever, will be transported by forklift to Harrods for the store's Truly British promotion in September.
The
Western Daily Press newspaper reported Ashley Chase Estates, in Litton Cheney, near Weymouth in Dorset, used 8,800 pints of milk to make the three-foot tall (0.914 metres), half-tonne cheddar.
Estates general manager Peter Mitchell estimated the cheese would make 10,000 sandwiches.
It will be sold over the counter in Harrods for GBP6.75 (USD12.10) a kilogram. The Truly British promotion runs from September 5 to October 15.
