 Raniero's 25 T electric forklift |
Italian manufacturer Raniero is claiming a record with its first 25 T electric forklift, developed in collaboration with FTMH.
The project is the result of a commission of LA CISA Trasporti Industriali that is investing in eco-sustainable logistics, choosing Raniero as a partner for the electrification of the machine to be used indoors at a steel mill.
According to the company, the machine has been in operation at a mill in Padua since October 2019.
"This forklift is part of a project to develop the range from 18 to 30 T with a load centre of 1200 mm, a project that up to two years ago was unthinkable," says a spokesman.
"It is the result of our long and deep experience in the design of electric forklifts from 6 to 25 T for the paper, recycling, wood, steel, automotive, cement, beverage, heavy logistics, terminals and port sectors."
Raniero opted for AC power for the truck, using a 380 V battery, and claims performance and speed are "equal to a diesel truck".
It lists the advantages as "a deep reduction of polluting emissions, noise level and fuel costs with a considerable saving at the end of the working day".
There is no indication of whether serial production of the model is planned.
