Automation testing at Auckland harbour |
Automation testing at Port of Auckland is "going well".
Harbour officials have posted an online video of robot straddles loading and unloading trucks using Konecranes equipment.
The
New Zealand Herald reported in February that the port's 27 new blue carriers will be controlled by software at head office.
The report quotes the port's automation project manager, Ross Clarke, as saying that the new straddle carrier technology alongside the port's three new cranes, which arrived from China last year, are a game changer.
