TVH in the Americas recently named Dirk von Holt as its new president. Forkliftaction News caught up with the president to find out a bit more about him.

Forkliftaction News: Prior to this appointment, what has been your biggest achievement?
Dirk von Holt: Transitioning TVH Parts Co. to a customer experience-focused company. Also, the expansion of the DC network to provide one-day ground shipping to over 90% of the industrial truck population in North America. There are now 12 distribution centres in the US, Canada and Mexico.

Forkliftaction News: What excites you most about the materials handling industry?
Dirk von Holt: Even though at times the materials handling industry seems to have arrived at a plateau, new technologies provide ongoing change and exciting new opportunities.

Forkliftaction News: What is the most significant change you have seen in the industry in your time?
Dirk von Holt: The ongoing shift from internal combustion to electric motors and the accelerating impact of electronics in all vehicles.

Forkliftaction News: What is the biggest opportunity that you see in your new role?
Dirk von Holt: To continue to support and drive the collaboration of all departments with the common goal of providing an excellent customer experience.
