Hyster Big Trucks get Tier 4

Hyster Company has launched its first Tier 4 Final-compliant big truck models.
"Building on the operational success of our Tier 4 Interim products, we've been able to achieve even greater fuel savings for our 2014 models - reducing the total cost of ownership while meeting the new emission regulations," says Brett Schemerhorn, president of big trucks for Hyster Company.
Hyster's big trucks and empty container handlers now feature a Tier 4 Final Cummins QSB 6.7L engine with a ZF WG 211 five-speed powershift transmission. The engine offers peak power of 230 hp for the H400-450HD/S and empty container handler models; and 270 hp for the H550-700HD/S models. Its biggest trucks and reachstackers, including the H1050-1150HD-CH laden container handlers, now come standard with a Tier 4 Final Cummins QSL 9L engine with peak power of 363 hp with a Dana Spicer Off-Highway TE 32 powershift transmission.

UniCarriers adds to range

UniCarriers Group recently unveiled several new additions to its range near its Swedish production plant in Mölnlycke.
Among the new products was the new Tergo UFW multidirectional warehouse truck, designed specifically for the requirements in the transport and stacking of long goods and all kinds of pallet loads with the same performance as a heavy-duty reach truck.
The new Tergo UFW combines the advantages of a multidirectional truck with those of a reach truck.
The Tergo URS turret truck has the smallest turning circle in its class and can operate easily and safely in warehouses with particularly narrow aisles. Moreover, it has an ergonomically optimised chassis. Individually adjustable seat height, back rest and positioning of controls provide a working environment that guarantees maximum user comfort.
Targeting intensive VNA operations such as are prevalent in the UK, the URS has been designed for minimum transfer aisle widths of 3,700 mm and an operational stacking aisle of only 1,650 mm.
UniCarriers also launched two new ranges of pedestrian stackers, the PDP and the PSP, with lift capacities from 1,250 kg to 1,600 kg.

New reach trucks from Jungheinrich

Jungheinrich has announced the launch of two new highly compact reach trucks.
The Series 1 models ETV 110 and 112 have lift capacities of 1,200 kg and are just 1,120 mm wide. Their narrow chassis width means the trucks can operate in aisle widths as narrow as 2,455 mm.
The trucks have also been designed to be particularly energy efficient. Field tests have shown that the ETV 110 and 112 trucks consume up to 10% less energy than their predecessors.
The new models also feature a newly developed electric steering system, based on the electric steering fitted as standard in other Jungheinrich reach trucks.
