Accreditation body RTITB is going social this year with live updates on Facebook and Twitter during its annual Operator of the Year final competition.
From 10.0am to 3.0pm on 20 September, Facebook (facebook.com/opofyear) and Twitter (@opofyear) accounts created for the event will be updated in real time, including posts when the champion is announced at the gala dinner following the competition.
"During this year's Operator of the Year competition, we have used social media to great effect to keep the industry and the general public up to date with the latest developments and announcements, as well as share pictures and video of our competitors in action," says a spokesman for the forklift accrediting body formerly known as the Road Transport Industry Training Board.
"There is no doubt that social media plays a huge role in many people's everyday lives, whether it is through the sharing of personal moments or gaining access to the latest news as it happens, which is why this is a great opportunity to open a window on an often overlooked part of the logistics path and get forklifts trending."
RTITB invites others to share their thoughts and pictures on Twitter (#rtitbop) and Facebook live from the event next week.
