KMH Systems Inc has added three more locations to its dealer network for Nissan Forklift Corp.

KMH began exclusively representing the Nissan brand in Cincinnati, Ohio and northern Kentucky on 2 October.

"We have been in the Cincinnati and northern Kentucky market since 1980, selling and integrating Hytrol conveyor systems and diversified storage solutions," says Michael Guenin, KMH president and chief executive officer. "Our selling of the NMHG brand ... allowed KMH to add a full-service forklift line as part of our 'mutual fund' of offerings in this strategic market." In certain markets, KMH had represented the Yale brand for Nacco Materials Handling Group Inc.

Subsequently, "we added the Dayton (Ohio), Columbus (Ohio) and Lexington (Kentucky) areas of responsibility (for Nissan) later in the fourth quarter last year." KMH established a new full-service facility in Lexington.

"The sales of the Yale brand to the respective Hyster dealerships were closed in four separate transactions by October 2012 for territories in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Tennessee," he says. "The process has been overall quite positive especially for KMH's future growth potential, which added industrial truck operations in five markets that were not eligible under the former supplier relationship."

KMH has 13 locations serving portions of seven states. KMH expanded its construction equipment business into the north Georgia market in early 2013.

In addition to Nissan, KMH represents the Clark, TCM, JCB, Combilift, Bendi, Flexi, Pettibone, Sellick and Genie lines.

KMH employs more than 200 people including 100 technicians.
