Meijer Special Equipment (MSE) VOF of St. Jacobiparochie, the Netherlands, trading as MSE-Forks BV, is nearing acquisition of Reachable Solutions LLC of Franklin from Michael Yacks, possibly by year's end.
MSE intends to maintain a sales office in Franklin and lease a 4,500 sqft. (418 sqm) facility for storage and distribution in order to increase customer service within the market.
Yacks will head the US operations of newly formed subsidiary MSE-Forks Inc as vice president of sales and marketing. His wife, Jodi Yacks, will continue as office and administration manager.
MSE-Forks BV business founder and managing director Hendrik Meijer will be president of MSE-Forks Inc.
"Plans are in place to add additional sales personnel for the western US states in the coming year," Mike Yacks tells
Forkliftaction.com News.
Yacks brings nearly 30 years of materials handling experience to MSE-Forks Inc. He started with BT Lift in the mid-1980s and then worked for more than 20 years with Atlet Inc as both regional sales manager and product manager for hydraulic telescopic Kooi-ReachForks, a primary MSE-Forks product. Yacks left Atlet in 2008 and created Reachable Solutions to become the exclusive US distributor for MSE-Forks.
"The European style is to go double deep (for stacking), and companies use Kooi-ReachForks to do that," he says. Regarding the growing corridor of automotive factories from Michigan to the south-east US, "telescopic forks are a good fit for the automotive industry. They can use stackable racks. Big frames can go onto flatbeds, and they can load or unload a truck from one side."
MSE-Forks is an approved factory supplier for numerous forklift truck manufacturers including Toyota/Raymond/BT, Jungheinrich, Linde, Nissan and Stihl.
