Funding is available for the transport and logistics sector. |
Enterprises and associations within the transport and logistics sector are encouraged to identify their current and future business and workforce development needs to determine whether they can be supported for funding.
The funds, available through the Transport and Logistics Industry Skills Council (TLISC) from the National Workforce Development Fund (NWDF), support the completion of full qualifications or skills sets for existing and new workers in priority areas of need.
The NWDF is a major component of the 'Building Australia's Future Workforce' package. Over the life of the program, the government will provide $700 million to industry to support this initiative.
During the first year of the program, 42 TLISC projects, spanning all T& L sectors, have been successful in obtaining funding.
The next allocation of funds from the program is now available and interested employers, employment service providers, professional associations, industry bodies and lead agents representing a consortium of enterprises are invited to submit applications.
All training approved for funding must be completed by 31 December 2014.
