JCB employees get gift for Queen's Jubilee
Rocester, United Kingdom

JCB employees in Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Wrexham have received gifts to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
The gift was a book charting the company's first 65 years of business, as the Queen's Diamond Jubilee also marks a special milestone in JCB's history.
JCB has a tradition of commemorating The Sovereign's jubilees. In 1977 and 2002, for the silver and golden anniversaries, the UK workforce also received souvenirs.

VDMA announces IFOY Award
Frankfurt, Germany

The German Engineering Federation (VDMA) has launched the International Forklift Truck of the Year (IFOY) Award for materials handling equipment.
The annual award will be presented from 2013 in partnership with the CeMAT intralogistics fair. There will be awards in the counterbalance and warehouse truck, and forklift solutions categories. Products that enter the market between 15 June 2011 and 24 September 2012, are eligible to enter the competition, which will be judged by an independent panel of trade journalists. Cargotec signs EUR55M loan
Helsinki, Finland

Cargotec Corp and the European Investment Bank have signed a EUR55 million (USD68.4 million), 10-year, research and development loan agreement to finance R&D activities for the development of cargo handling solutions and related technologies.
Included in the financing are also equipment and test facilities for Cargotec's new Technology and Competence Centre in Tampere, Finland (Forkliftaction.com News #534).

Jungheinrich invests in people
Milton Keynes, United Kingdom

Jungheinrich UK Ltd has achieved the Investors in People (IiP) accreditation again. The firm was first awarded the status in 2009 and went through a renewal process this year.
