RAM Spreaders has secured an order for 15 spreaders from new customer ICTSI for its TecPlata terminal in Argentina.
The global stevedoring firm selected five units of RAM Type 2900 CenterSpread separating twin-lift telescoping spreaders for ship-to-shore (STS) cranes, and 10 RAM Type 3500 all-electric telescopic spreaders for rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes for the first phase of its new development at La Plata, Argentina. The TecPlata terminal, owned by ICTSI, is located about 60 km southwest of Buenos Aires.
RAM has also secured new orders for delivery to Panama, Colombia, Ecuador and Brazil.
"These latest orders for Latin America are further proof of RAM's strong reputation and demonstrates terminal operators' trust in our latest generation of separating twin-lift ship-to-shore crane spreaders and all-electric yard crane spreaders," a company spokesman says.
The value of the orders is confidential.
Established in the UK in 1972, RAM claims to be the world's top independent supplier of container handling spreaders. It has its main manufacturing site in China, design and development centre in Singapore and an assembly and service support facility in Lancashire, England. It is part of NSL Engineering Pte Ltd, one of Singapore's largest industrial groups.
