Farralls Transport, a founder member of Palletforce, has signed a deal potentially worth GBP10 million (USD15.5 million) to be the sole UK pallet network provider for rock salt supplier Dandy's.
The two-year deal between the Chester-based company and Dandy's has been reached with a view of extending the contract by five years in 2013. The deal is worth an estimated GBP10 million (USD15.5 million) over seven years.
"Farralls Transport is absolutely second to none," says Adam Dandy, managing director of Dandy's. "They are permanently focused on continuously improving their service to us, with weekly meetings taking place with our logistics supervisor and general manager."
Dandy says Farralls' ability to listen to the company's concerns and quickly meet its needs has given the company confidence to agree to use it as its sole pallet provider.
"As a user of pallet networks for over five years, we have tried many other suppliers and can wholeheartedly say that the service our customers receive from Palletforce as a network is without doubt the best in the industry," Dandy explains.
Dandy's claims it is the only UK-based rock salt supplier to have continuously supplied the general public and businesses with salt during the worst three winters in over two decades.
The Dandy's contract also includes the distribution for all of the company's spring and summer goods from its garden-related websites, dandystopsoil.co.uk and dandysgardencentre.co.uk.
