Linde Material Handling (MH) has been operating a plant in the southern Chinese coastal province of Fujian since 1993, establishing it as one of the first foreign truck manufacturers in China. As the primary base for Linde Material Handling in Asia, Linde (China) Forklift Truck Corp. employs more than 2,000 workers nationwide. Early entry into the Chinese market has provided significant competitive advantages, not least in developing the wealth of experience within the company, as well as its extensive sales and service network which has, ultimately enabled it to expand its customer base.

What began as a joint venture is today a wholly owned Linde MH subsidiary which spans 220,000 square metres and is the largest foreign truck manufacturing plant in China. Industrial trucks for the whole of Asia are developed, manufactured and assembled on this site. Linde's extensive product range is sold via a sales network that currently includes 36 branches, 80 offices and 12 dealers.

The product range includes the full selection of counterbalance trucks, either with combustion engine or electric motor, with a lifting capacity of 1.2 to 16 tons, as well as pallet trucks, pallet stackers, reach forklift trucks, order pickers, tow tractors and system technology devices. The range also includes container handling trucks and heavy-duty trucks for use in explosion-protected areas. Customers can also benefit from a whole host of services supporting these products, including individual consultation, storage and fleet planning, application optimisation, service, maintenance and training.

The Linde Heavy Truck APLA Conference in December 2010 held in Xiamen showcased the launch of the Hydrostatic drive Empty Container Handling truck which entered into mainstream production in January 2011. Other new European products showcased included the 1401 General Purpose Hydrostatic drive10-18T and the 1402 medium-heavy duty 18-32T forklift trucks. In addition, Linde Heavy Trucks has extended its conventional drive series of locally manufactured heavy forklift trucks by adding a short wheelbase version (12T & 15T at 600mm load centre) to the existing long wheelbase range (18T at 600mm, 12T & 16T at 1200mm). These new products complement the 45T Reachstacker which has recently been upgraded to replace the previous series which had been in production in Xiamen for several years. Linde (China) produced the first Reach Stacker in 2007 and achieved 100 units in 2009 having doubled this amount by 2010. While Linde is well-known for the smaller tonnage forklifts in China, this conference allowed customers to witness that Linde is equally strong and committed to serve their needs in the heavy tonnage forklifts and container handling forklifts." said Mr. CP Quek, CEO of Linde (China).
