The J2-72 Joey Low Level Order Picker we will be launching in January. |
Chicago, IL (September 10, 2015) - Big Lift LLC, makers of Big Joe equipment, is planning to launch a series of new models to support several emerging material handling trends now being seen throughout North America. New products designed specifically for last mile delivery applications, low and mid-level order fulfillment, and basic ergonomics to reduce on the job injuries are central to the company's plans. At the
NBWA conference in Las Vegas in October, and again in the
spring of 2016 at MODEX in Atlanta, Big Joe will be showcasing several of these new models - some of which will be launching as early as this January.
"We listened to our customers and made a commitment to assist them by creating new equipment that supports the deep strategic changes they seek to make in how they distribute products", said Dan Rosskamm President of
Big Lift LLC.
Big Lift LLC believes that due to the proliferation of smaller store formats and the growth of ecommerce, retailer profit is becoming increasingly reliant on new product introductions, SKU expansion, and continuous promotions which have strained their traditional fulfillment operations. A need to shift from full pallet DC deliveries to more frequent store replenishment and more items in lesser quantities in retail and other industries requires new equipment built for an economy different than that of 20 years ago.
"Many think the future is nothing but automation when it comes to distribution, but the need for flexibility and low cost deployment is going to also be a big part of the mix", says Bill Pedriana Director of Sales for Big Joe.
"Whether at a store location, cross-dock, warehouse or in-between; new equipment is needed that is simple, capable and intuitive to operate, which is exactly what we are developing to", continued Pedriana.
New Big Joe equipment to be released will include a completely new variant of its J1 Joey task support vehicle,
the J2 Joey low level order picker introduced at ProMat 2015 in Chicago, new stacker models that will feature electronic proportional hydraulics and power steering, and new delivery products designed for carts and small format pallets. In the coming months as these products get closer to introduction and launch, the company will be releasing many more details to the industry through Forklift Action, social media and on its website which can be visited at
