Modern Group has appointed Paul Farrell as president and chief operating officer (COO), and as a director of the company.
Modern's chairman and CEO Dave Griffith says Farrell has done an outstanding job as COO in "working through the business issues of the recession of the past few years". "He had led our restructuring efforts and has positioned the company for growth. His promotion to president recognises his accomplishments and sets the stage for Modern's leadership for years to come. I look forward to working together with Paul in his new role."
Farrell was previously president of Modern Power Systems, and had joined the company in 2004.

Flow-Rite has appointed Todd Hart as sales director and promoted Rob Brock to major account manager.
Hart worked for over eight years at B&J Rocket and was most recently general manager. He has been a business development consultant for Flow-Rite for the past few years. As sales director, he will oversee Flow-Rite sales efforts, including its battery maintenance and marine businesses.
Brock has been part of the Flow-Rite sales team for 11 years. As major account manager, he will focus on the needs of battery OEMs and support the company's larger dealers. He will also be post-sales support and a trainer for the customers.

Briggs Equipment has appointed Grant Johanson as manager of BE Fleet, the company's industrial equipment fleet management consulting service. Johanson has been with Briggs Equipment for more than four years. Before moving to the Dallas headquarters in 2009, he was a project manager in the company's Houston office. He will provide strategic program leadership and oversight for the BE Fleet consulting team in his new role.
