John Feldmann

John Feldmann has been appointed chairman of KION Group GmbH's supervisory board. Feldmann, 62, replaces Johannes Huth of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co Ltd (KKR), who will remain a supervisory board member. He has a doctorate in chemistry and has worked in strategic and operational management roles in the chemical industry for over 30 years. He was a member of the board of executive directors at BASF SE from 2000 to 2011, and has been a member of the supervisory board of Bilfinger Berger SE since 2008 and a member of the chairman's committee of the supervisory board since 2010.

Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA)'s board of governors has appointed George W Prest as CEO of the trade association from 1 January 2012. Prest replaces John B Nofsinger who will retire on 31 December. Nofsinger has been CEO of MHIA since 1999.

Prest, chief operating officer of MHIA, has over 30 years' experience in managing and owning materials handling manufacturing companies. He has served as the president of both the Rack Manufacturers Institute and the Material Handling Education Foundation, as executive chairman of MHIA and as a member of the Manufacturers Board of Advisors of the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association.
