Material Handling Inc. (MHI) has acquired Savannah, Georgia-based IPW. IPW was founded by Chris Reynolds in 2000 and currently operates two locations serving the Savannah, Southern Georgia and the Charleston, South Carolina markets.

"We are thrilled to join an organisation with the extraordinary commitment to excellence like MHI. They will make our company stronger and dramatically improve our ability to serve our customers’ future needs," says Reynolds.

MHI is a family-owned and -operated business that began in 1975 in Dalton, Georgia with locations in Dalton and Gainesville, Georgia; Knoxville, Chattanooga and Nashville, Tennessee; Bowling Green, Kentucky; and Birmingham, Alabama.

MHI supplies new and used forklifts, materials handling equipment, warehouse and safety products, pallet racking, dock and door equipment and services, short-term and long-term rentals, parts, forklift operator training, battery and charger systems and service, and more to their wide network of customers.

"We are honoured to include IPW as the newest chapter to our story,” says MHI CEO Patrick Sain. “MHI will support Chris Reynolds and the leadership team to continue to serve current and future customers with unparalleled excellence."

"IPW's industry-specific expertise in manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, along with its dedicated customer base, is a perfect addition to MHI's focus in these growing markets," says Mike Sain, president of MHI. "We look forward to providing the additional resources and support to grow the company to the next level."

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
