Anyware Robotics has unveiled Pixmo, an artificial intelligence-powered (AI) autonomous robot designed to unload containers and trucks.
Pixmo has an autonomous mobile robot (AMR) base with a footprint the size of a warehouse pallet, a cobot arm and AI-powered perception and motion planning systems.
It does not require software integrations or infrastructure changes to be deployed into the warehouse environment.
“Truck unloading is an excellent example of where robots can greatly contribute to making the world a better place,” says Anyware Robotics chief executive officer and co-founder Thomas Tang.
“Humans have been doing an admirable job in that heavy and demanding work but there are too many injuries. Pixmo can help to significantly reduce those injuries while improving the throughput of the logistics operations.”
Pixmo’s AI software enables the robot to easily manage the complexity of shifting boxes during transit, box orientation, box size, number of SKUs, carton sizing and packaging quality.
Anyware Robotics says in future Pixmo may be able to be used for other warehouse tasks, such as palletising, depalletising, case picking and container loading.
The robot is expected to be available commercially later this year.
