Meclift introduces the new variable reach truck ML 1200RP
Oy Meclift Ltd, a Finnish manufacturer of variable reach trucks and side reach stackers, has launched its latest development of variable reach trucks, the ML 1200RP for handling jumbo-size paper rolls. The first truck was delivered to UPM Kaukas paper mill in Finland.
The ML 1200RP is Meclift's response to the delicate handling of large size paper reels.
The ML 1200RP has a telescopic twin boom configuration with an integrated multiple arm rotatable clamp. The clamp is attached to the beam between the two arms by a hydraulically-operated pivot arm to provide tilt movements.
The machine is capable of an 8 tonne lift to a clamp centre height of 5 metres and has an outreach of 1.85 m. The key to the design is its open front end which allows the booms to be retracted to carry a reel vertically between the front wheels. This reduces the wheel loadings significantly to 14 tonnes/axle line when fully loaded, which will allow the machine to work inside a rail wagon even with a 8 tonne reel.
The tricycle wheel design with hydrostatic drive gives exceptional manoeuvrability and ability to work in narrow aisles of less than 5 m in width. Overall machine width is 2500 mm at the front and 2100 mm at the rear while the wheelbase is 3000 mm. Height is just under 3 m.
