Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc (MCFA) has received an award for excellence in supply chain management.

Judges at the i2 User Group's Directions 2003 conference selected the Ken Sharma Award winners on overall vision, project complexity, innovation in approaching business challenges, time to realise purchase value and results.

"We have also been able to optimise our modelling processes by factoring in transportation and supplier data that wasn't taken into account earlier," said MCFA material director Jim Jankovic.

The i2 User Group and publicly traded i2 Technologies Inc, of Dallas, Texas, co-sponsor the annual competition. The awards are named in honor of i2 co-founder Ken Sharma.
