 MAFI's new T2303 |
Eastern Lift Truck has announced that an electric version of MAFI's popular diesel T 230 terminal tractor or yard truck will be available in the northern spring.
MAFI, which has been in business since 1957, was an early pioneer in the production of yard trucks and heavy-duty trailers. Its products are known and respected throughout the world and found in busy seaports, RoRo and container handling operations, and logistics and distribution centres.
The new electric T 230e yard truck retains all of the features of the diesel T 230, such as its hydraulically operated fifth wheel, spacious cabin, small turning radius and great all-round visibility. By swapping the diesel engine for a battery with up to 177 kWh capacity, the new T 230e will provide a cleaner, more environmentally friendly option, without loss of performance.
MAFI sales director Jürgen Thorwarth says: "Operators who have become accustomed to the comfort and productivity of the T 230 will now enjoy a much quieter operation. Maintenance and cost of operation for the T 230e will be considerably less than typical internal combustion engine yard trucks, as less wear and tear is exerted on componentry."
MAFI Transport-Systeme GmbH, based in Tauberbischofsheim, Germany, specialises in the development and production of heavy-duty vehicles for transporting containers, semi-trailers, cargo and roll trailers and special container chassis in ports and industry.
