Kaup's new facility in NashikKaup, a German-based manufacturer of forklift attachments, has opened a manufacturing facility in the western Indian city of Nashik.
The new facility, which was officially inaugurated according to traditional Indian customs in October 2024, features a production area of around 1,200 sqm.
Now operational and producing forklift attachments including roll clamps, carton clamps and bale clamps, it joins the company's other manufacturing plants in Aschaffenburg, Xiamen (China) and Brisbane (Australia).
Kaup has been active in the Indian market since the late 90s, with one local dealer, Kaup India, representing the manufacturer on the subcontinent since 2012.
According to the company, the location of the new facility in the fast-growing city of Nashik, will play an important role in its expansion plans.
Kaup says that, while it had been planning to start production in India for several years, several factors including the COVID-19 pandemic, had forced it to change plans. It wasn’t until 2023 that it could resume its search for a suitable location, which it found in Nashik.
